Lights on My Pedal Assist Bike

Now have lights on my bestie Specialized Turbo Levo, means I can be late coming back home from a ride. Needed new helmet so got one that protects my mouth. Got warm gloves, rear view mirror plus Sean at Mt. Tam Bikes on Mill Valley reprogrammed the middle level of assistance and it now flies.

I end up getting a better workout as opposed to non-assist because I ride twice as long (and far). Am seeing a lot more of the countryside these days.

About Lloyd Kahn

Lloyd Kahn started building his own home in the early '60s and went on to publish books showing homeowners how they could build their own homes with their own hands. He got his start in publishing by working as the shelter editor of the Whole Earth Catalog with Stewart Brand in the late '60s. He has since authored six highly-graphic books on homemade building, all of which are interrelated. The books, "The Shelter Library Of Building Books," include Shelter, Shelter II (1978), Home Work (2004), Builders of the Pacific Coast (2008), Tiny Homes (2012), and Tiny Homes on the Move (2014). Lloyd operates from Northern California studio built of recycled lumber, set in the midst of a vegetable garden, and hooked into the world via five Mac computers. You can check out videos (one with over 450,000 views) on Lloyd by doing a search on YouTube:

  1. Hey Lloyd, you make me feel like advanced aging is not an issue anymore. I’m up there with you and you continue to inspire me. I just keep building, I have no business to do anything else, stick to my passions although that bike looks awesome, anxious to hit the road again in my newly purchased camping vehicle, get the hell out of town and getting lost in some beautiful natural settings here on the West Coast. Happy Festivus bro!!!!

  2. A good set of lights brings real peace of mind when out on the E-Bike. Been using mine for years and wouldn’t be without them, stay safe Lloyd and keep enjoying the ride (both on the bike and life in general).
