Straw Bale Workshop NY Catskills in August

Hey Lloyd,

Thought I’d let you know about my straw bale building workshop coming up August 10-12 in the NY Catskills. We still have room for a few more participants if you want to spread the word on your blog.

Thanks!

About Lloyd Kahn

Lloyd Kahn started building his own home in the early '60s and went on to publish books showing homeowners how they could build their own homes with their own hands. He got his start in publishing by working as the shelter editor of the Whole Earth Catalog with Stewart Brand in the late '60s. He has since authored six highly-graphic books on homemade building, all of which are interrelated. The books, "The Shelter Library Of Building Books," include Shelter, Shelter II (1978), Home Work (2004), Builders of the Pacific Coast (2008), Tiny Homes (2012), and Tiny Homes on the Move (2014). Lloyd operates from Northern California studio built of recycled lumber, set in the midst of a vegetable garden, and hooked into the world via five Mac computers. One Response to Straw Bale Workshop NY Catskills in August

  1. Oh, I'd love to attend as an observer. I'm not much use, not even as a photographer, but I've always wanted to build a strawbale house. Okay, not always, but for 20 years, which sounds like always to the young.
I love the photo, especially the little niches in the doorway, and the shelf to the left of the window— and dare I suppose those are up-lights beside the door? Probably not, but one can always dream, and I often dream of strawbale houses.
