Candy Cap Mushrooms

Found these candy caps while running on the mountain Saturday. They smell like maple syrup when dried. The kitchen is fragrant right now as they sit on a drying shelf and take advantage of heat from the fireplace.

Lloyd Kahn started building his own home in the early '60s and went on to publish books showing homeowners how they could build their own homes with their own hands. He got his start in publishing by working as the shelter editor of the Whole Earth Catalog with Stewart Brand in the late '60s. He has since authored six highly-graphic books on homemade building, all of which are interrelated.   1. I also find interesting/edible things while running but don't know how to transport them home. Do you go back and get them later or do you have some kind of backpack?
