One Response to Godfrey Stephens Carving

  1. My father was a fisherman located in Tofino, Uclulet, Port Alberni areas of Vancouver Island. He passed me down a carving by Godfrey Stephens. It is engraved "SAILING THE CATAMARAN SAN JUAN ISLANDS- GODFREY 1975" According to my dad who was a bit of a bullshitter, Godfrey's was known as quite a earthly fellow who lived on his sailboat. All of the fishermen knew him or knew of him and he was well respected. My dad (David Brassard) said Godfrey gave him this carving one day at the dock. My dad also told me that Godfrey sailed away high on mushrooms one day and he never saw him again. Mikenkimmy@shaw.ca
