Took off shoes (sand was hot!) and crawled into shade of this beach shack to rest for 15 min., then pushed on. Wind blowing hard and it was behind me! I put out arms to act like sails and got gentle assist.
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back…”
–Irish proverb
There’s a landing strip here and surf spot. Have no idea how they got building materials in. Surfers dream.
I took a backpack trip to the beach day before my birthday so I could watch the sunrise on birthday dawn. On the way I saw 3 turkey buzzards, this one drying its wings. They are magnificent flyers. (iPhone photo. Too bad I didn’t have my real camera with 300 mm lens.)
I made these a few days ago. Very simple recipe by David Chang, works with onions, carrots, cucumbers, daikon, etc. You can eat them the next day and they’ll keep for a month or longer in the fridge.
