As pointed out by Rick, the studs are on the outside here; I presume so that the interior walls are smooth for storage of grain.

On the road both of #winnemucca today. Ever since seeing Baghdad Cafe + a few other bar/gas station movies set in the remote Nevada desert, I’ve had a half fantasy of fixing up and running such a place in the middle of nowhere.

#eclipse just awesome. When it got totally dark, you could hear screams from all the neighboring houses. Had a great 3 days at Lew & Krystal’s. Headed south and east toward Burns aftetward, no crowds at all, ducked into the Crooked River at this campground.

Yesterday, Lew took me and 2 of his friends on a walk, and we visited the universe of Ricky B., extraordinary car rebuilder and creator of a miniature ghost town. This is, I believe a ’50 Chevy (how about that green?), one of maybe 50 cars he’s got, in various stages of refurbishing. I’ll put more of Ricky’s alternate universe up on my blog when I get time. In Prineville, Oregon, fine little town. 16 hours to eclipse.
