*By this we mean road rigs, not small cabins on trailer platforms that are meant to be moved infrequently.

About Lloyd Kahn
Lloyd Kahn started building his own home in the early '60s and went on to publish books showing homeowners how they could build their own homes with their own hands. He got his start in publishing by working as the shelter editor of the
Whole Earth Catalog with Stewart Brand in the late '60s. He has since authored six highly-graphic books on homemade building, all of which are interrelated. The books, "The Shelter Library Of Building Books," include

very cool! that is my first love of all things funky. starting with roll your own and rolling homes.I lived in a handmade gypsy wagon,a 56 3 ton fargo flatdeck for seven years also my first rig a 56 international metro also for seven years ,back in the early 70s early 80s ,lots were on the road,I will round some pictures of rigs i have known and send them soon ,thanks for all your most excellent work!!!!!!

Your new book just arrived in the mail. I ordered it from Powells, an independent bookstore in Portland, so it was great to support two wonderful, independent book providers!
I'm already chomping at the bit for the RVs, trucks, buses and bikes book!!!! My favorite part of HomeWork was the few pages of travel homes in the back. I'm stoked!

I am so happy your Tiny Homes book has done so well. Yesterday we were doing a book presentation at a local independent book store in Bellingham, Village Books. One of the early arrivals had your Shelter book in hand. I mentioned Tiny Homes and he said he just bought that and had it at home. We were already in your Tiny Homes book, but there are lots of other float cabins on Powell Lake you could consider. One is being built right now by John, the same man who built our cabin in 1999. Wayne wrote a book about it called Cabin Number 5 (it's the fifth one John's built). You might want to take a look at it.

I have been re-newvating a 1970 Pace Arrow motorhome, inspired by housebuses, gypsy caravans, and Builders of the Coast. Built on the cheap on weekends and teacher summerbreaks,it is coming along in Seattle. Fairly eclectic and cozy, not quite ever done… Want some photos?
