This is really the bible of tiny houses, written by Lester Walker almost 25 years ago. We did 2 pages on it in our book Home Work: Simple Shelter in 2004. As I work on our new book on tiny homes I realize again what a great book this is. Here is what appeared in Home Work. You can click on the pdf’s to get clear images of the entire two pages.
“The six little house plans shown here are from Tiny, Tiny Houses by Lester Walker. Lester is a rarity — an architect who not only has designed these little houses, but has drawn clear and useful plans that he shares with others.”

About Lloyd Kahn
Lloyd Kahn started building his own home in the early '60s and went on to publish books showing homeowners how they could build their own homes with their own hands. He got his start in publishing by working as the shelter editor of the
Whole Earth Catalog with Stewart Brand in the late '60s. He has since authored six highly-graphic books on homemade building, all of which are interrelated. The books, "The Shelter Library Of Building Books," include
Shelter,
Shelter II (1978),
Home Work (2004),
Builders of the Pacific Coast (2008),
Tiny Homes (2012), and
Tiny Homes on the Move (2014). Lloyd operates from Northern California studio built of recycled lumber, set in the midst of a vegetable garden, and hooked into the world via five Mac computers. You can check out videos (one with over 450,000 views) on Lloyd by doing a search on YouTube:
Hi, Lloyd.
Thanks for good posting.
I read your book 'Shelter' (It was very interesting and it gave me many inspirations.)
I want to see more information about this post, but I don't know where PDF files are.
And link has empty info.
Please let me know. Thanks Lloyd.
From Korea. A.H.
I can't get in them either.
I found this book when it was first published and have been "designing" unbuilt tiny houses ever since. It just never gets old.
Lester Walker's books are around but can be hard to find at libraries. For some reason, he's often catalogued as "Les". FYI to anyone looking, the tiny houses book has an alternate title, "A Little House of My Own".
I think this tiny houses fits for a very small family.
