This is a lovely piece, her voice hauntingly pure, accompanying herself on a dulcimer. Boy!
I met a redneck on a grecian isle
Who did the goat dance very well
He gave me back my smile
But he kept my camera to sell
Oh the rogue, the red red rogue
He cooked good omelettes and stews
And I might have stayed on with him there
But my heart cried out for you, California
Oh California Im coming home
Oh make me feel good rock n roll band
I’m your biggest fan
California, Im coming home
About Lloyd Kahn
Lloyd Kahn started building his own home in the early '60s and went on to publish books showing homeowners how they could build their own homes with their own hands. He got his start in publishing by working as the shelter editor of the

Shelter,
Shelter II (1978),
Home Work (2004),
Builders of the Pacific Coast (2008),
Tiny Homes (2012), and
Tiny Homes on the Move (2014). Lloyd operates from Northern California studio built of recycled lumber, set in the midst of a vegetable garden, and hooked into the world via five Mac computers. You can check out videos (one with over 450,000 views) on Lloyd by doing a search on YouTube:
Lloyd Kahn!!! Man….I love this song so much, too. Back in the days of vinyl I would have said that I wore out a copy of "Blue"….can I say the same thing now in the era of the CD? I love your blog…always love to see what you are getting into next. And…the thing she's playing is a dulcimer…although "zither" or even that "thingamajig" probably works for descriptive purposes…that magic Joni music machine. Thanks for the good work!
Beautiful!! My generation. Is there anyone who comes close to that voice? Maybe Te Kanawa.
Thanks for the treat~
Lloyd, I listened to this several times. awesome. thank you. I know Mr. Mitchel who she was married to and he's a fine guitarist as well and sings many good fun songs. I asked him for the tuning of her dulcimer and he sent me back this information that anyone can have as well. http://jonimitchell.com/music/transcription.cfm?id=316&from=search
